St. Louis Personality and Aging Network (SPAN)

The SPAN Study is a longitudinal investigation of personality, health, and aging in a community sample of older adults (approximately half female) in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The participants were between the ages of 55 and 64 at baseline, who are quite diverse in terms of race and social class. Information has been collected from the participants as well as from informants (with half of those being romantic partners). There is also a sub-study, with data from participants’ children and grandchildren called the “SPIN” study (PIs: Dr. Thomas Oltmanns, Dr. Jennifer Tackett, Dr. Ryan Bogdan).
