Einstein Aging Study (EAS)

The Einstein Aging study (EAS) focuses on the aging brain, examining both normal aging and the special challenges of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementing disorders. The study has been supported by grants from the National Institute of Aging since 1980.Scientists of this study consist of an interdisciplinary team of neurologists, neuropsychologists, neuropathologists, neurochemists, social workers and other health care professionals. Currently, the EAS includes the following research projects: 1) The Risk Factor and Neuroimaging Project, 2) The Memory Project, 3) The Gait and Mobility Project, and 4) The Brain Bank Program.

*Note* Because of the rolling enrollment with an aging sample, the sample size and number of measurement occasions for participants vary. As reported in Graham et al. (2020), some participants have as many as 16 waves of personality data, but most have between 3 and 5 waves. N = 342 completed at least one wave; N = 214 completed 3+ waves; N = 179 completed 4+ waves.
